The fabulous line up includes two tenor and two alto saxophones, three trumpets, three trombones, bass guitar, lead guitar, keyboard, percussion and a male and female vocalist. This is a proven receipe for a great event  as experience has shown that functions, and weddings in particular, measure the level of their success by the quality of the band chosen.  In the case of Route 66,  a glance at the quality venues in which we have played on the Gigs page will instantly confirm our committment to that quality.

Route 66 is made up of musicians from Counties Kildare, Meath and Dublin who come from varying musical backgrounds. The majority of them have been involved, both professionally and semi-professionally, with showbands, groups and musical societies for many years and the experience gained in these areas brings a very special musical flair to our performance.

We have played at many high profile events including the wedding of Royston Brady, ex Lord Mayor of Dublin, The Rose of Tralee Festival, Barnardo's Diamond Ball in The Shelbourne Hotel and at Gala Balls for both Temple Street and Crumlin Childrens' Hospitals as well as parties for many well known celebrities.

Our play time would normally extend to two/two and a half hours with a short break to catch our breath and our play list includes music made famous by Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, The Beatles, Abba, Billy Joel, Joe Dolan and Gloria Gaynor,all performed with the power and excitement that can only be experienced through a 16 piece Big Band.

We can of course put you in touch with a DJ for those who like to be entertained into the wee small hours.
